The Team
We’re the Usability and Design team at Convio, a rock-awesome company that offers online software to the non-profit space, helping non-profits connect and engage their constituents to effect change in the world.
Amy Jones – User Researcher, and the Texan of the bunch. I live and work in Austin, and I’ve been with Convio since January of 2007. I have a B.A. in the Humanities, and a B.S. in Psychology. User research is fascinating to me because it’s all about understanding how people think and creating designs that just make sense. In my spare time, I practice martial arts, social dance (swing and country/western – I am Texan, after all), spend time with friends, and curl up with good books.
Austin Govella - A user experience designer in Convio’s Austin office who specializes in information architecture and interaction design. I co-wrote the 2nd edition of Information Architecture: Blueprints for the Web and write about better products, better experiences, and better teams on my blog, Thinking and Making.
Nelson Wong - Started as a UI Development Intern at GetActive in early ‘06, then came back a year later as a Front-End Developer. As a front-end guy, I’m into web standards, JavaScript libraries, RubyOnRails, RSS feeds, and all things Web 2.0. I majored in Cognitive Science (awesome major) at UC Berkeley. My interests away from work include football, volleyball, hiking, cooking, photography, and hanging out with buddies.
